  1. As of September 5, Shore Line East will have an updated schedule, which will accommodate continuing construction for the Amtrak Fitter Interlocking Project. This is being done to improve Amtrak’s ability to perform track maintenance. Weekday and weekend schedules will be impacted. For a full schedule please click here. The town of Chester has issued a legal notice that states, “Pursuant to Section 12-40 of the Connecticut General Statutes, notice is hereby given that all persons conducting business in the Town of Chester must file a complete and accurate Declaration of all taxable personal property used in the conduct of their business as of October 1, 2023. Personal Property Declarations will be mailed to persons known to be conducting business in the Town of Chester. Whether or not you have received a Declaration, it is the business owner’s responsibility to file a Declaration (as defined in C.G.S. Sec. 1-2a) on or before Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Failure to file a Declaration which includes all personal property (and/or leased property), in the manner prescribed by law, shall result in subsequent penalties and tax liability for failure to file.” (Town of Chester via Facebook)
